Our Story!

Our Why

This is what happens when a group of Cedar Point enthusiasts combine their love for the parks with a passion for drinks.

Cheers to Our Beginning...

Day Drinking at the Point was born from a passion for epic adventures at the park, new friendships, and of course great drinks!

Co-founder Scott Cameron, a longtime Cedar Point enthusiast, loved exploring the park's amazing bars and meeting the incredible bartenders. Inspired by Club D3, the Disney Day Drinkers Club (www.clubd3.com), Scott envisioned a similar community for his home park, Cedar Point.

He teamed up with co-founder Gilbert Kaat – a friendship that started over drinks at Cedar Point, and together they brought our club to life. Now we're a vibrant community introducing new friends, sharing tips, and making epic Cedar Point day drinking memories!

Everyone's invited to join the fun! Our club is open to all Cedar Point enthusiasts - whether you're a curious first-timer or a seasoned fan who's been visiting since childhood. You can participate as much or as little as you like, and many of our members love staying connected through our Facebook community - cheers to making new friends!

About Bailey

Our Penguin Mascot and Bailey....

Our logo was born from our club mascot, the Team Bailey penguin. Bailey is an amazing girl who loves her family, loves animals (penguins being her favorite), and loves visiting theme parks. She visited the Disney parks with our family in 2023 and was intrigued by the Disney Day Drinkers Club. She couldn't wait to return when she was old enough and "drink around the world" at EPCOT. When we decided on starting a similar club for Cedar Point, she thought it was a great idea and wanted to join us opening weekend 2024 to see it take off.

Bailey's world was turned upside down in October, 2023 when she was diagnosed with Meningeal Melanoma, a very rare and incurable brain cancer. Bailey fought like a warrior and handled the battle in front of her with grace, strength, and courage. Sadly, she passed away from the disease on April 11, 2024. Although she was only with us for 19 years, she's an amazing person who touched the lives of everyone who was lucky enough to know her.

Her strength and courage is an inspiration. We honor her legacy and memory by using the Team Bailey penguin as our mascot. When you get your first drink on property, please honor Bailey by raising your glass and saying "Team Bailey!"

In addition to the mascot, we thought we should have a group logo. The idea was to incorporate the penguin and combine it with a fun and relaxed vibe that highlights a day of drinking at the park. Inspired by Bailey's brave spirit, our Team Bailey penguin logo combines fun and friendship - cheers to her legacy, and the legacy of all loved ones, with every drink at the Point!

We like to drink in the day...do you?

Understanding the Allure of Day Drinking

For some, day drinking conjures images of rooftop mimosas and poolside beers. For others, it's a breezy indulgence during a lazy Sunday brunch or a spontaneous toast to freedom on a weekday off. But beyond the clink of glasses and sparkle of daylight, why do people day drink—and why does it feel so different from nighttime socializing?

Brunch Culture & Leisure Rituals

In many places, daytime drinking is normalized through culinary pairings. Brunch without a Bloody Mary or mimosa? Unthinkable in some circles. Wine with lunch is commonplace in countries like France or Italy, where alcohol isn’t just a beverage—it’s a ritual of enjoyment and connection.

Psychology of Escape

Drinking during daytime hours can offer a psychological departure from routine. For people feeling overwhelmed, burnt out, or simply constrained by the usual structure of the week, a midday cocktail can symbolize rebellion or release. It marks a mental break, a tiny protest against the grind.

Vacation and Mindset Shifts

On vacation, time becomes fluid. Noon drinks on cruise ships or beach resorts are rarely met with judgment—just enthusiastic refills. The “I’m not working” mindset dissolves the boundary between day and night, turning any hour into happy hour.

Social Momentum and FOMO

When you're surrounded by friends ordering drinks at 2 p.m., it’s easy to be swept up in the mood. No one wants to be the odd one out sipping soda while others are raising glasses. That sense of collective energy can turn a regular afternoon into a spirited affair.

Final Sip: Day drinking isn’t just about alcohol—it’s about mindset, setting, and connection. Whether it's a cultural custom or a spontaneous decision, it reflects how people seek joy, unwind, and shape their experience of time.
